This video walks you through using columns in reports, including for tracking categories/classes.
You can create a report showing tracking codes/classes in any of these ways:
Option 1 - Use the New Report button.
In Reports, use the "New Report +" button to create a new P&L report for any set of codes set up in your accounting system.
This will show all codes in that group across the page, in columns.
In a consolidated company, each entity will have its own column.
See details below.
Option 2 - Use the Columns configuration
Go to Edit Report (top right) then Columns (button at top). See How to edit a report and create your own custom rows and columns
Select tracking codes by column, adding one or more tracking codes per column.
In consolidated companies you can use this to combine entities for one tracking category.
See details below.
Option 3 - Use rows editing
In Reports, use rows and formulas with GL accounts to select tracking categories.
See How to add tracking codes, classes, or categories as rows in your reports and details below.
Option 4 - Use Dashboards to create charts and graphs by tracking code
In Dashboards, using any series or forumla using GL accounts to select tracking categories.
Option 5 - Create customer page reports by tracking category.
See How to report on tracking codes for Customer data and Add Metrics from Multiple Customers Pages to one Report or Dashboard.
Option 6 - Create custom metrics
In the Metric Library, use formulas with GL accounts to select tracking categories.
These can be used in Reports and Dashboards.
See How do I create a new metric in the metric library?
See details below.
Option 1. Using the "New Report" Button for Tracking Codes
The easiest way to create a new report for tracking codes or classes is to go to Reports>New Report (left sidebar)> "P&L" (2nd to top button)>"Tracking Codes" (top bar toggle).
This will enable you to instantly select a code group for which to view all the tracking codes at once, one per column.
See below screenshots:
Click New Report + > Click P&L > Click Tracking Codes > Select Tracking Code & Time Frame

This option will create a new Tracking Codes report which you can further edit as per the "Edit Columns" option below.
Option 2. Using Edit Columns to select Tracking Codes
When viewing a report with tracking codes, you can also use "Edit Columns" to select any combination of tracking codes you wish to see, one or more per column. See screenshots below.

In Edit Columns, select "Add new preset" in the left hand sidebar and add columns for each tracking code or set of tracking codes to include. Select one or more individual tracking codes, "Remaining" for unassigned amounts, and/or "Tracking Category" to get all amounts, regardless of tracking code status. Name your preset, save, and "Exit".

Don't forget to rename your report to reflect the new tracking codes you have selected.
The below example shows a month's P&L with all tracking codes plus all unassigned costs, adding to the total at the far right. This can be created using either "New Report +" , P&L, and setting the toggle for Tracking Codes, or by using "Edit Columns" in an existing tracking code report and adding columns for each of the desired tracking codes.

Option 3. In Reports, use rows and formulas to select tracking categories
When adding a row to a report from the P&L like a financial category, a group or a GL Account, you'll have a secondary option to choose a tracking category for that row. The same can be done in formulas.
- In any P&L Report, click Edit > Edit Report > Rows
- Click here to add a new row or create a formula
- Choose an item from the Accounting section like a financial category, P&L group or account
- Click Done
- Now, with that row selected, click the cog wheel for additional configuration options
- Finally, choose one or many tracking categories

The same steps can be done within a formula. Now this row or formula with tracking codes built in can be referenced by other rows and formulas in the report.
Formulas and Metrics are available in reports, dashboards and the Metric Library to select tracking codes as well. Edit any dashboard chart series or metric in the library and follow the same steps as the report above.
